It a first time from IRCTC. IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) which till recently was the only online official website to book train tickets in India has now tied up with one of India' s top private bank (ICICI) to sell rail tickets online. With this agreement, ICICI Bank becomes the first bank in the country to offer such a facility on its website. So far all other travel websites use to redirect to the IRCTC website.

The journey of Android - from Cupcakes to Marshmallow

Android was born on November 5, 2007. Since then, it’s grown up to be one of the most dominant operating systems in the world.

Android 1.5 (Cupcake)
Android 1.5 was the first of its kind to get a codename, Cupcake. Stories revealed that Google wanted to launch this version as 1.2, but the company finally decided to make it a major revision and made it 1.5 instead.

Android 1.6 (Donut)
Android Donut was the OS that started making others forsake their Palm Pres and start taking Android more seriously.

Android 2.0 (Éclair)
The new SDK called Éclair was launched in October 2009 followed by a bug-fix version 2.0.1 in December 2009 and 2.1 in January 2010.

Android 2.2 (Froyo)
With Froyo, it was all about speed. The speed boost in 2.2 is fantastic, but what makes Froyo a truly great update is that it tightens bolts all across the entire platform. Android has evolved into a real product, on a totally different level than its first year

Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)
Google released Gingerbread officially in December 2010. This version was designed for optimizing speed, memory and performance. The OS also included a new version of on-screen keyboard, worked on copy/paste option, etc.

Android 3.0 (Honeycomb)
Coming hot on the heels of Gingerbread was Honeycomb, a version that Google admitted it had rushed out the door in response to Apple's launch of the first iPad in 2010.
Honeycomb was a tablet-only version, and Google never released the code to people who might want to install it for their mobile phones. Rushing this version out to market also meant the software wasn't at its best. For instance, support for Flash, a key differentiator between Android and iOS was never baked in.

Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)
ICS reoriented toward the mobile phone with an updated interface and the complete dissolution of hardware buttons. This means we finally got the actions bar and the ever-important recent apps button

Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)
Had Google not introduce Google Play Services in Jelly Bean, this would not have been Android's biggest release ever. Google Play Services, while it didn't sound very exciting at that time, allowed Google to push out updates to Android's core components and to individual apps without needing to update the entire OS.

Android 4.4 (KitKat)
The Nexus 7 release on Halloween 2013 led to Google having some fun with its dessert naming convention. The company partnered with Nestle for KitKat. Version 4.4 made Android less of a memory hog, which meant the OS could run on devices that had lower RAM

Android 5.0 (Lollipop)
Google has touted Lollipop as its "sweetest release yet," with a host of major new features that truly launched Android into a modern-day OS. The UI was completely overhauled with Google's new Material Design aesthetic, showing apps in brighter, bolder colors and featuring smooth animations all throughout the OS

Android 6.0 (Marshmallow ) - Aug 2015
Marshmallow is the future of Android, and though it is still in developer preview mode. This version will also include a new memory tracker to help users find out which apps are eating up the most RAM, as well as quick fingerprint access to provide support for fingerprint sensors and access the Google Play Store with a single swipe of the finger.

What could be the next version of Android be named after ?? Ladoo ?

Fresh funding of $15 Mn to Taskbucks India.

Taskbucks is android app developed in 2014 by Kumar Apurva and as of Nov'15 has over 5 million downloads on Google Play. Times Internet has now picked a majority stake in this mobile platform with a funnding of $15 million (approximately Rs. 100 crore).

Taskbucks has a unique business concept which rewards users (like you and me) for completing
small micro-tasks. The model helps brands and consumer companies offer tasks to consumers, who are rewarded for completing these micro tasks via the Taskbucks app, its as simple as that.
Eg. You download a new app via Taskbuck app, the app developer pays Taskbucks and Taskbucks in-turn shares you some money.

This money could be to a decent amount if you religiously complete small micro tasks on a daily basis. The earned money could be redeemed via online wallet, online shopping voucher or can be transferred to your bank account as well.

What's best in all the Taskbucks feature, is that.. You also get paid good if you refer a friend to Taskbucks, All you need is to have your friend use your referral code during registration.

So give it a try ( no harm in trying right ? ) Step to follow mentioned below.

1. Go to Google Play Store
2. Download and install the app on your smartphone via Google Play Store.
3. Use your mobile number to signup ( please do use my reference code ' K3B5RNQB ' during sign up :-) )

Once downloaded you will be provided with the micro-tasks on the Taskbucks app.
Enjoy and Happy Earning!!!.

Whatsapp is a great messaging tool, its subscriber base and usage has only increased over the recent years. Whatsapp is currently available on android, Windows, iOs and other JAVA phones.
It also releases newer versions with newer features (like Whatsapp calling), the recent being a feature that lets you know if the recipient has received and read your message.

Lets understand the current feature. Once a message is send to any of your Whatsapp contact there are three level of information you get.

One Grey Tick.. means the message is successfully send.

Google can now help find your phone - #findphone

Google has always helped you find information that you are looking for, now this is taken to a next level. If you have an android smartphone and have any time logged in to your Google account, then Google can help you track your phone. Google has introduced a new feature that allows Android
users to simply type ‘find my phone’ into a search box to find their smartphone.

This works as long as you are logged in with the same Google account that is registered on their smartphone. Google uses a feature available in the Android Device Manager, which is already installed on your Android smartphone.

So, if you've lost a device, Google uses the Android Device Manager to find its approximate location on a map and when it was last used. When the Android Device Manager locates your device, that device will get a notification. Once you locate your device, you can remotely ring, lock, or erase data in it using Android Device Manager.

Before you can use Android Device Manager to locate your device, make sure your device's location access is turned on and be signed in to your Google Account. Android Device Manager won't work for devices that are turned off or that don't have a mobile data or Wi-Fi connection.

So give it a try.. go to and sign in, then search ' find my phone ' or alternatively click here for a quick Google search. Don't forget to try the 'Ring' option too.

Google Cars now on roads in Texas - @Googlecars

Google has reached a new milestone in its self-driving car project. The prototype showcased last time
has already gained popularity, but now Google has selected Texas as the latest testing site for its self-driving car project.

The plans is to have the driver less car to operate a few square miles north and north-east of down town Austin. The testing fleet in California includes Lexus SUVs and also prototype vehicles. It’s also releasing a monthly report on the progress of the project and, crucially, any accidents that happen.

The project was in negative news in June when Google’s self-driving cars were involved in two accidents on the roads of Mountain View, California, but humans driving the other vehicles were at fault in both cases. No injuries were reported in either incident, Google said in its monthly report that lists accidents involving its fleet of autonomous cars. Both collisions involved test cars from Google’s fleet of Lexus sport utility vehicles, which are equipped with autonomous driving technology.

All self-driving vehicles in California and Texas have safety drivers on board. Google has “self-driven” more than 1 million miles, according to the company’s website.

Understanding Web 3.0

Understanding Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality

Virtual Reality (VR) is all about the creation of a virtual world that users can interact with. This virtual world should be designed in such a way that users would find it difficult to tell the difference from what is real and what is not. A good example would be flight simulator, used train new pilots. VR is great for games and 3D films.

Augmented Reality (AR) is the blending of virtual reality and real life, as developers can create images within applications that blend in with contents in the real world. A good example would be Google glass, which can add a layer on street view.

So, what's the difference ?
With AR, users continue to be in touch with the real world while interacting with virtual objects around them. With VR, the user is isolated from the real world while immersed in a world that is completely fabricated.

Then, what's the similarity ?
Both virtual reality and augmented reality attempt to immerse the users in ways that detach them from the real world.

Which technology will evolve ?
Some of the latest technologies using virtual reality include Oculus Rift Crescent Bay, Samsung Gear VR and Sony Project Morpheus, while the products using augmented reality include Microsoft HoloLens and ODG Smart glasses. Another product providing a blend of both virtual and augmented reality is Google’s Magic Leap.
