Anscer Robotics Secures $2 Mn From Info Edge Ventures

Bengaluru-based deeptech startup Anscer Robotics has raised $2 Mn in a seed funding round led by Info Edge Ventures.

The startup plans to use the fresh proceeds to expand into new geographies and develop new product lines. It claims to have already deployed autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) at the units of its 15 enterprise customers across the US, India, Singapore, and Japan.

Founded in 2020 by Ribin Mathew, Ebin Sunny, Raghu Venkatesh, and Brijesh CA, Anscer Robotics develops intelligent AMRs for warehouses, manufacturing plants, and logistics centres. Its flagship AMR product line includes pallet movers, tuggers, conveyors, and lifters with payload capacities of up to 2 tonnes.

Info Edge Ventures partner Chinmaya Sharma said, “We are thrilled to partner with Anscer Robotics in their journey to revolutionise industrial automation. Their innovative approach to robotics and strong technical expertise aligns perfectly with our investment thesis of backing transformative technologies. We believe Anscer Robotics has the potential to become a global leader in the AMR space”.

The funding comes at a time when the Indian government is clearing all decks to attract investments in the homegrown deeptech sector.

Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in the recent Union Budget 2025-26 that the government is mulling launching a deeptech fund of funds (FoF), which would focus on fuelling capex-heavy sectors with long gestation periods, such as electric vehicles (EVs), rocket engines, robotics, nanotechnology, semiconductor, artificial intelligence (AI), among others.

The regulatory push also comes at a time when investors are increasing their stake in the deeptech game. In January, for instance, early stage venture capital firm Riceberg Ventures launched a $20 Mn fund to invest in deeptech startups.

According to Inc42’s data, deeptech was one of the most funded sectors in 2024, with 73 deals totaling more than $460 Mn.

In December 2024, AI-powered robotics startup Haber raised $44 Mn, in a mix of equity and debt, in its Series C funding round led by Creaegis, BEENEXT and Accel India.

Prior to that in November, robotics startup CynLr also bagged $10 Mn in its Series A round led by Pavestone and Athera Venture Partners (formerly Inventus India).
