Gnani.ai Raises $10 Mn To Build Sovereign AI Voice Agents

Generative AI (GenAI) startup Gnani.ai has raised $10 Mn (around ₹94 Cr) in its Series B funding round led by Aavishkaar Capital. The round also saw participation from existing backer InfoEdge Ventures.

The startup will deploy the fresh capital to expand its customer base by exploring new verticals and global markets. Additionally, a chunk of the funds will go towards research and development and talent acquisition.

Founded in 2016 by Ganesh Gopalan and Ananth Nagaraj, Gnani.ai launched its voice-first AI model Inya during the ‘India Impact AI Summit 2026’ last month.

Gnani.ai’s B2B agentic AI solutions enhance customer experience for large enterprises as well as customer-facing businesses across sectors such as BFSI, telecommunications, ecommerce, consumer internet, healthcare, among others. It claims to serve more than 200 enterprises currently.

“We recently launched Vachna TTS (text-to-speech) that can voice clone a person in six seconds and also give you the ability to speak in multiple languages. Even if you just train it in one language. So, this is one example of some of the newer products that we are building,” Gnani.ai cofounder Gopalan told Inc42.

In December 2025, the startup unveiled Vachana STT, a speech-to-text model designed for Indian languages, under the IndiaAI Mission. It said the model is trained on over 1 Mn hours of real-world voice data and will form a part of its upcoming voice technology stack, VoiceOS.

Gnani.ai was one of the startups selected under the IndiaAI Mission to build a 14 Bn parameter voice AI foundational model to offer multilingual and real-time speech processing with advanced reasoning capabilities.

Its newest product Inya, which is a full-stack agentic AI platform, allows enterprises to build, deploy, and manage AI agents across voice and digital channels. As per Gopalan, Inya has already roped in more than 150 customers.

The fundraise comes amid growing investor interest in the domestic AI sector, driven largely by increasing adoption of AI tools and advances in machine learning and generative AI. Last week, reports emerged that homegrown AI major Sarvam was in talks to raise up to $250 Mn in a fresh round led by Nvidia, Accel and HCLTech at a unicorn valuation.

At the heart of all this is the Indian AI market, which is projected to become a $126 Bn opportunity by 2030 and is expected to contribute up to $1.7 Tn to the country’s GDP by 2035.
