Startup funding momentum continued to remain strong in the final week of February, with 33 startups cumulatively bagging $219.8 Mn between February 23 to 27. However, this marked a 23% decline from the $285.3 Mn bagged by 17 startups in the preceding week.
The week-on-week decline came largely on the back of no mega funding rounds materialising during the week. Ecommerce major Spinny sealed the last mega funding round of $170 Mn on February 14.

Key Startup Funding Highlights Of The Week
- Buoyed by Deepindar Goyal-led Temple’s $51 Mn fundraise, the advanced hardware & technology sector topped the funding charts this week. Six startups in the space cumulatively bagged $88 Mn in fresh capital this week.
- Ecommerce segment saw the highest 9 deals materialise this week, with ecommerce startups netting $27.1 Mn in funds.
- Weekly seed funding soared to $32.5 Mn across 15 deals. This represents an over 4X jump from $8.1 Mn raised by startups at this stage last week.
- While Peak XV emerged as the most active startup backer with three investments, prominent investors like Lightspeed, ajvc and 360 One also backed two startups apiece.
Startup Fund Updates Of The Week
- Info Edge’s board has approved a commitment of up to ₹250 Cr to B8 Fund I, a Category II AIF focussed on backing growth-stage Indian startups as well as startups with a primary strategic focus on the Indian market.
- Sauce.vc closed its second “Opportunities Fund” at ₹750 Cr. Via the fund, it plans to double down on four to six high-growth portfolio startups including Hocco, The Whole Truth, Mokobara, Innovist, XYXX and Supertails.
M&A Updates This Week
- Edtech giant upGrad acquired a 90% stake in internship platform Internshala through a stock-swap deal. While the financial terms were not disclosed, reports suggest the transaction values Internshala at around ₹100 Cr.
- Digital payments major BillDesk will be acquiring the payment businesses of Worldline India to offer an omnichannel payments suite including online transactions, recurring mandates, cross-border payments, among others.
- Deepinder Goya’s eVTOL startup LAT Aerospace acquired defence tech startup Sharang Shakti to shore up its defence capabilities.
Other Developments Of The Week
- Deeptech startup SEDEMAC filed its red herring prospectus (RHP) for an IPO which will comprise only an offer for sale (OFS) of up to 80.43 Lakh share. The issue is set to open for subscription on March 4 and close on March 6.
- Ahead of its IPO plans, BRND.ME (erstwhile Mensa Brands) received approval from the NCLT to redomicile to India from Singapore. The startup is planning for an IPO within the next 12 to 18 months.
- Coworking space provider Table Space’s board gave a nod to raise INR 200 Cr via private placement ahead of its IPO. The public listing is likely to comprise a fresh issue of INR 1,000 Cr along with an offer for sale (OFS).
- IPO-bound Infra.Market is raising ₹1,250 Cr ($137 Mn) debt from Singapore-based private credit platform Ascertis Credit for refinancing debt, capital expenditure, merger and acquisition, and more.
- Healthtech startup Practo is in advanced discussions to raise $100 Mn to $125 Mn in a pre-IPO round, which will be a mix of equity and debt.
