Agentic AI startup BotGauge AI has raised $2 Mn (about ₹18.1 Cr) in a funding round led by Surface Ventures. IA Seed Ventures and Saka Ventures also took part in the round.
The startup, which offers enterprises an AI-powered software quality-assurance (QA) platform for end-to-end software testing, plans to utilise the fresh capital to expand its R&D work in India, improve its QA agents and scale its presence in the US among other global markets.
It also plans to expand its engineering team over the next 12-24 months.
Founded in 2024 by Pramin Pradeep, Naresh Kumar Rajendran, Vivek Nair and Sreepad Krishnan Mavila, BotGauge AI offers a fully managed quality assurance service for software teams. Instead of selling testing tools, the AI agent takes responsibility for testing outcomes.
The startup claims that its AI agents identify what needs to be tested, create and maintain test cases, and run tests across the software lifecycle. While human QA experts oversee the process.
The startup is headquartered in the US with engineering operations in India.
The funding comes at a time when agentic AI space has seen a flurry of funding announcements recently. For instance, startups like Giga, UnifyApps, Lyzr, Mem0, Grass.ai have raised millions in funding lately.
Particularly in the agentic AI space, AI voice agents are gaining popularity in India for the multiple use cases they offer for businesses. One key focus area for such agents is that they use data and orchestration to capture raw speech and convert it into insights and workflows.
Recently, startups like Bolna announced a seed raise of $6.3 Mn, while enterprise-grade voice AI developer smallest.ai raised $8 Mn in seed funding in October last year.
