Understanding Social Media and Social Networking

Have been receiving quite a few responses on my article explaining Twitter. Most of the readers liked the video which explained twitter in simple english. There are similar videos available on youtube and one can find them brief searching. In the coming days i would be sharing some of videos at askwiki covering various topics.

Today I thought of sharing something on Social Media and Social Networking

Social Media simply put is the democratization of content and the understanding of the role people play in the process of not only reading and disseminating information, but also how they share and create content for others to participate. It's a fusion of sociology and technology. Twitter. Facebook. Delicious. These are all examples of social media.



Social Networking is using an online service, platform, or site that focuses on building and reflecting of social networks or social relations among people, e.g., who share interests and/or activities.
